Are We Simply Human Plants?

Let’s talk Vitamin D… personally, I’ve recently been diagnosed as Vitamin D deficient so I thought I’d share my research with you so you can feel better too. My first thoughts due to the foul weather we’ve had in the UK during May, was “No Shit Sherlock” lol. But when the doc recommends a supplement, its time to take it seriously.

Basically we need sunlight and water to grow and function, much the same as most plants. THE SCIENCE PART: Vitamin D is needed for the maintenance of normal Bone health. The vitamin helps the body absorb Calcium and Phosphorous to support the Bones. Also supports the functioning of Muscles and helps Cells to repair themselves. It is essential to assist the Immune System in its defence against Germs and Harmful Bacteria. Vitamin D can be found in Sunlight, Oily Fish, Canned Fish, Egg Yolks and Liver, mostly. Or you can find quite inexpensive supplements to take. Obviously follow the directions recommended by the suppliers. It’s great to realise that we can do something about this issue.

Here’s something to ponder though, for my conspiracy theorists amongst us. If Vitamin D is so good for us physically, not even mentioning the emotional feel good benefits, why do experts warn us not to sit in the sun? Is it to keep us unhealthy and miserable? Prevent us from growing healthily and being happy? Would love to hear your thoughts on this subject…..
