I’ve had a fabulous couple of days catching up with old friends. I’ve had the chance to dress up and do my hair and makeup (for the first time in a long time…) I’ve been brave and posted photos and I’m gushing at wonderful comments. But…. I don’t see that I look nice or that I’m “glowing” as I’m still working on my self-esteem.
I think this is also a problem for many people, especially as we’ve all been out of the social loop for so long. We’re out of practice, we’re a little paranoid. And many of us have enjoyed not having to worry about what people think of us, how we look, and speaking out of turn. It would be much easier to hide out forever…
This is where “Fake It Til You Make It” comes in, well for me anyway. I do my hair, put on something I feel comfortable in, do my face… and I’m someone else who is a lot more confident than me lol. I know “fake” is a bad word in most circles but not if it helps you feel better.
For the New Age or Metaphysical amongst us there’s also something to be said for The Law Of Attraction. In simple words, if you dress and behave as a confident and successful person, the Universe will assist as much as it can by sending you tools to become that person. Ever heard the theory that if you smile you’ll have something to smile about?

Here’s me looking a lot more confident than I feel… If I can do it so can you.

The above tips for faking confidence should be like commandments to you. They are things that confident people do naturally. Maybe the plan is to keep practicing until they become second nature.
So from now on “fake” it. Hold your head high, smile, fake confidence. Until you’re actually feeling better about yourself. Take photos, post them, receive the compliments, record your milestones. You are a work in progress and you’re learning to love yourself more every day. I’m on the same journey with you guys, we can do this!!
Until next time
